Privacy
Three things collect data in a normal product: the app, the website, and the analytics bolted onto both. Here is what each of ours does.

The app
CamDial has no network access at all. It has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporter and no update checker — it does not open a connection to us or to anyone else, because there is nothing it would have to say. Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and that label is a description of the code.
Your presets, rules and settings live on your Mac, in your own user library. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is synced. If you delete the app, they go with it.
The live preview exists only while a window showing it is open. When you close it, the camera session is torn down and the camera’s indicator light goes out. CamDial never records video, never writes a frame to disk, and never sends one anywhere.
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your email or your payment details — only anonymous, aggregated sales reports.
This website
The site is a set of static files. There are no cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no tag managers, no embedded fonts or scripts from other companies, and nothing that would let us or anyone else follow you between pages.
Our host, Cloudflare, keeps ordinary server logs for a short period so the site can be served and abuse can be stopped. We do not build profiles from them.
Links from this site to the Mac App Store carry a campaign tag — a plain word like site-home — so we can see which page led to a download. It identifies the page, never you, and Apple reports it back to us only as a count. Once you land on the App Store, Apple’s own privacy policy applies.
If you write to us
Mail sent to hello@camdial.app reaches an ordinary mailbox, and we keep the correspondence so a follow-up question makes sense. We do not add you to anything, and there is no newsletter to be added to. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.
A compatibility card, if you send one, describes your camera — its model, the controls it reports and their ranges. It says nothing about you.
Changes
If any of this stops being true, the page changes and the date at the top changes with it. Questions go to hello@camdial.app.
